Course Description
This course covers the basic awareness of the hazards associated with the use of electricity. Learner objectives for this course are to: understand the basics of electrical safety, electrical concepts, hazards and controls, voltage testing procedures, effects on the human body, PPE and best practices.
This course will give the student a basic understanding of:
- Regulations as the apply to Electricity
- Basic Electrical Safety
- Basic Electrical Concepts
- Electrical Hazards
- Induction
- Step and Touch Potential
- Effects of Electricity on the Human Body
- Controls – Including Limit of Approach
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Best Practices – Including Job Planning, Safety Programs, and Equipment Maintenance
This course is designed to be taken entirely online.
The course should take approximately 3 hours to complete.
Once you pass your course you can print your certificate. This is valid for 36 months (3 years).
You may still require additional workplace specific training by your employer.

You must have unique emails for each person being registered for the course - you cannot register multiple people under the same email address.

- A minimum score of 75% is required to pass this course.
- You will have 2 attempts to pass and your final score will be printed on your certificate.
Student Cost
A student is anyone in (or returning to/starting in the fall) High School, College, University, Private Skills Training School, or who is participating in their apprenticeship for their respective trade.
Verification may be requested for Student Rates.
Currently Unemployed?

Day rates are available for companies booking full classes. Additional fees such as travel costs may be on top of the training fee depending on distance.
