Course Description
Do you feel like you were promoted or thrown into a role that didn’t come with a training manual? You’re not alone.
Luckily this course will help give you the tools to be effective in your role!
In this course you will learn how to fulfill your role as a supervisor and about your your responsibilities under the Ontario law to manage health and safety in the workplace – while still being productive!
Topics include:
- Understanding of Powers,Responsibilities and Duties as they applyto being a supervisor
- Understanding of how to build your supervisory and leadership skills
- Understanding of how to lead a work team
- Understanding of communication and how to communicate effectively
- Understanding of different types of Harassment and how to address it
- Understanding of your role in safety as a supervisor
- Understanding of how to develop and motivate work teams
- Understanding of how to address performance issues
- Understanding time management, scheduling, productivity, and client service
- Understanding of Due Diligence
- Understanding Delegation
- Understanding Personal Limitations
Once you understand what to do, the program will then give you the tools to do it.
Practical Component Includes (minimally)
- Filling out a Safety Orientation Document
- Writing a Safety Talk
- Completing a Job Safety Analysis
- Completing an Inspection Form
- Completing an Incident Report Form
We encourage you to bring company specific forms to class, however generic ones will be provided and will be availble to participants for on-going use if requested.
