The accident investigation and reporting process helps to provide a safe working environment by determining the causes of an accident, then reporting them so that accidents can be prevented in the future. The content in this course is designed to comply with the intent of the applicable regulatory requirements.

This course will provide an overview of accident investigation and reporting procedures. The accident investigation and reporting process helps to provide a safe working environment by determining the causes of an accident, then reporting them so that accidents can be prevented in the future. The content in this course is designed to comply with the intent of the applicable regulatory requirements.

Learner objectives for this course are:

  • recognize why an accident should be investigated ,
  • recall the steps for conducting a formal investigation,
  • identify recommended interviewing techniques,
  • describe problem solving techniques commonly used in accident investigation, and
  • recall topics included in an investigative report.

Once you successfully pass your course, you will be able to print your certificate which is valid for 36 months (3 years).

LENGTH: 4 HOURS

You must have unique emails for each person being registered for the course - you cannot register multiple people under the same email address

  • Training may be paused or resumed at any time.
  • You may require additional workplace specific training by your employer.
  • A minimum score of 75% is required to pass this course.
  • You will have 2 attempts to pass and your final score will be printed on your certificate.

A student is anyone in (or returning to/starting in the fall) High School, College, University, Private Skills Training School, or who is participating in their apprenticeship for their respective trade.
